We've got a place to park

The driveway is poured!  And the stonework is completed on the front.  Not much else to report.  Most work is going on inside now.  We did take a stroll through the neighborhood on this nice, warm late November day.

Our driveway.  Our garage door should be in soon.

Don't usually get a shot of our street from this perspective.

The future road to the next phase of Cedar Creek.  It will
contain the pool and clubhouses.

Another unique shot of our house.  It is the last one to the right.

We have a deck

As expected, our deck is now up.  It also looks like our next door neighbor won't have one, which means we'll have a tad more privacy.  I also spotted our French doors for the study in the garage.  Still no stone on the house but we're close.

All prepped for stonework

I always forget to get a picture of the front of our row
of houses.

The deck!

The deck gives the house a whole new look.

New construction has started on the other side of us.

Siding is up

Drove by the house today after dropping some things off at storage and saw they had the siding up.  Our house now has color!  It's sort of a green.  They have yet to add any stone.  Couldn't get too close but it looks like the garage has drywall up.  Our building rep let us know they'll be starting our deck and trim tomorrow.

A classy green.  The white trim still needs to be added.
Decorative stone will be installed shortly.  We love
our slightly larger front windows.

The weather's been unusually warm but it's allowed the
construction process to move forward smoothly.  They
have begun to construct the houses next to us.

Look closely and you can see the drywall in the garage.
This may be the last picture of our house without
a deck.

Pre Drywall Inspection

Today was the day the house became more than just an idea.  We got the chance to walk around in it and explore the space.  Our building rep went over where all the switches would be, as well as the rough-ins for ceiling fans.  Turns out we will have attic space as well.  We also noticed a small mistake but turned out to be a good one.  Our tv connection was placed on the wrong wall from what we originally wanted.  But after looking it over, we actually preferred the location they used (which is what 80% of the homes choose for their tv connection).  We asked  a lot of questions and they were very helpful.  As far as the exterior of the house goes, we got a definite answer to how it will look (more siding than brick).  The weather hasn't been the greatest this week so they haven't been able to start siding yet.  But we're still on track for a late December close.

Looking down hallway from master bedroom.  You'll see some
wet spots on the floors from the recent rains.  They're using
propane heaters to dry it all out.

Reached a milestone!

We've gotten to the point where we have scheduled our pre-drywall meeting.  It will be next Friday at 10am.  The building rep has informed us that they have installed all the mechanical systems.  Next week, if weather cooperates, they will start siding and stone.

Election day

Decided to swing by Cedar Hills to check on the progress.  Looks like the entire home is now wrapped and the roof framing is complete.  We also have a front door!  I also noticed the fake window on the main level.  It's just for decoration and it'll appear as though the shutters are closed.  I noticed this on other similar homes.   It's also curious that our next door neighbor might not have a deck.  Every other home on this street currently under construction has woodwork in place for a deck. So we'll see.
